BackupFlow help centre

Frequently asked questions.

Clear answers about backups, restore, migration, storage, security, and the multilingual website.

Is BackupFlow free?

Yes. BackupFlow includes manual backup, restore, migration, Website Server storage, FTP, and Google Drive functionality.

Can BackupFlow restore any ZIP file?

No. The archive must be a compatible ZIP created by BackupFlow.

Can I move a site to another domain?

Yes. Restore a compatible archive on the destination WordPress installation and complete the migration verification steps.

Does uninstalling remove backup files?

Backup archives are intentionally preserved so they are not silently destroyed when the plugin is removed.

Should I keep an off-site copy?

Yes. A remote or downloaded copy helps when the website server itself becomes unavailable or damaged.

Does the website use Google Translate?

No. All six website and documentation languages are embedded static translations and do not use a translation API or browser auto-translation.

Where are local backups stored?

Local backups are stored in BackupFlow’s protected storage area on the website server and appear in the Backup Library.

Can I create files-only or database-only backups?

Yes. Choose the component that matches the recovery point you need, or select both for a complete backup.

Which remote storage destinations are available?

The documented release supports FTP and Google Drive in addition to Website Server storage.

Does BackupFlow support WordPress multisite migration?

No. BackupFlow 1.0.1 is documented for single-site WordPress installations.

What should I verify after a migration?

Verify login, pages, media, permalinks, forms, checkout, email, scheduled tasks, webhooks, caching, and environment-specific settings.

How should backup archives be protected?

Treat every archive as production data because it may contain users, customer records, uploads, configuration, and secrets stored by other plugins.
